Neben jährlich vier bis sechs Ausstellungen in Berlin und der Teilnahme an Kunstmessen im In- und Ausland, ergänzen wir unsere Aktivitäten durch die Betreuung von privaten und öffentlichen Sammlungen. Galerie Springer Berlin zeigt bis zum 11.04.2026 den jungen Fotografen Sebastian Wells. Seit 2016 reist er als akkreditierter Fotograf zu allen Olympischen Spielen.
In den Serien ARENA I und ARENA II untersucht Sebastian Wells die Olympischen Spiele als globales Massenspektakel und hinterfragt die medialen, räumlichen und sozialen Mechanismen, die dieses Ereignis prägen. Seine Arbeit richtet sich bewusst gegen heroische, national aufgeladene Bildtraditionen des Sports und lenkt den Blick auf jene Strukturen, die Wahrnehmung, Aufmerksamkeit und Bedeutung erst hervorbringen.
Im Februar wird das Buch »ARENA Take 1: Facing the Spectacle« bei Spector Books erscheinen.
Sebastian Wells (*1996) ist Fotograf und Mitglied der Agentur OSTKREUZ. In seiner fotografischen Praxis untersucht er Macht, Raum und mediale Inszenierung, insbesondere im Kontext globaler Großereignisse. 2022 gründete er mit Vsevolod Kazarin das Magazin Solomiya. Er lebt in Berlin.
Arnold Odermatt would have celebrated his 100th birthday on May 29, 2025. He joined the Nidwalden cantonal police force in 1948 and retired as a first lieutenant in 1990.
His keen interest in photography began in his youth. He taught himself all the techniques of this medium.
He photographed throughout his life, both professionally and in his spare time. In doing so, he developed his own visual language with unusual perspectives, sprinkled with subtle humor. His son, director Urs Odermatt, delved into his father’s extensive archive for film research. Impressed by the quality, he became the editor of Arnold Odermatt’s complete works and numerous books. In 2001, Harald Szeemann, curator of the 49th Venice Biennale, exhibited a selection of 32 of Odermatt’s works. This was followed by international solo and group exhibitions. Arnold Odermatt’s artworks are part of numerous international collections and are exhibited in many museums worldwide.
